I’ve been practicing Vinyasa yoga for over five years but never practiced partner yoga before until I tried it for the first time with Synergy by Jasmine. It was definitely a fun new experience for me. It taught me how to trust my partner on the mat and encourage my own confidence. Plus the moves are tremendously fun and playful!
“Exactly What Our Relationship Needed” Jan. 15th, 2011. Barbara
We really enjoyed your class today. We will be seeing you more…I can’t wait to tone my body, mind and spirit (not necessarily in that order). I think your class is exactly what our relationship needs too, we needed a way to re-connect. I just graduated and was busy 24-7++. Now I have a business and am busy 24-7+++ so we hardly ever see each other or even have meals together anymore. It was good, quality time with my best friend.
Jasmine’s yoga classes are suitable for all body types and fitness levels. Yoga virgins and the stiff and inflexible are especially welcome. Classes, workshops and mini-day retreats are at several locations in the Metro Philadelphia area including Manayunk and West Chester
Synergy By Jasmine™ provides resources, articles, research, pics and videos about all different kinds of yoga on the Resources and Media pages.

What is the purpose of yoga?
Most non-practitioners of yoga assume that yogis are flexible and strong. While that is indeed true, there’s more to the practice of yoga than a fabulous body. Yoga brings a sense of quiet and stillness with a focus on deep, rhythmic breathing and the challenge to honor your body where it is on a particular day. Let it go and allow your mind, body and spirit to come into alignment…that’s the mindset of a yogi.
However, partner yoga, where two yogis work in tandem, is playful and fun, exploratory—and harder than it looks. To experience the depth of partner yoga, the partners must be willing to support and be supported and work as a team to deepen into poses together. Encouraging and synchronizing each partner’s breath takes yogis further into postures and brings a sense of exhilaration upon realizing what has been accomplished jointly.Watching yogis release from shared asanas enriches the practice as the partners enthuse “wow, I never thought I could go so deeply into that pose!” or reveling in the intimacy of sharing something so personal with another.
- Yoga is not about self-improvement, it’s about self-acceptance.
- Yoga is a discipline, a practical philosophy to experience individual consciousness through the union of body, mind, and spirit.
- We are each responsible for our spiritual growth and healing and yoga provides us with a way to move towards optimum vitality.
- Yoga was originally created as a series of asanas (asana literally means “seat”) or positions that prepare the individual to do the work of meditation and to heal the body to its natural state.
We try to get close and stay close in a relationship — but our tactics often put a strain on the very bonds we’re trying to strengthen. Why not try breaking new ground? Get close with a partner yoga practice, and see how you can use it to strengthen your connection while having fun together.
Couples Yoga Therapy
Couples Yoga is a medium created to build stronger communication and intimacy between human beings in a relationship. These Yoga Postures, breathing exercises and meditations are designed specifically to bring communication into a tangible form. We are here to help you to discover and experience the dynamics existing within your relationship
Couples Yoga compels companions to lay aside their differences while working to achieve a common goal. The simple act of breathing together and participating in a practice grounded in acceptance, unity and love translates to more open and authentic communication between partners.
This practice re-establishes weakened bonds. On the mat partners must have complete faith in each other. Postures are dependent on showing up for one another and giving equal effort. It is developed on trust and is a great metaphor for the nut and bolt aspect of all relationships.
There’s no finished, perfect pose or situation. This is about learning new methods to connect, and cooperate, while finding new ways to support each other.
In these sessions you will learn a combination of the following practices:
- Yoga postures
- Breathing exercises
- Partner Meditations
- Massage techniques
- Affirming your partner and Being Affirmed
- The Power of Intention
